The New York Giants have been starving at quarterback position. After years of bland Daniel Jones fans were served something different this preseason Jaxson Dart.

Dart’s stat line 14-of-16, 142 yards, 2 TDs won’t win him Rookie of the Year in August. But it gave Giants fans hope. The defenses being vanilla in preseason, it’s about the spark.

In an NFC East with Jalen Hurts, Jayden Daniels, and Dak Prescott, the Giants can’t afford to trot out “mayo” anymore. They need bold. They need fearless. They need a quarterback who makes fans lean forward instead of slump back.

For now, Dart is just a preseason highlight. But for a fan base that’s been eating mayo sandwiches on dry toast since the last SuperBowl victory, even a taste of flavor is enough to believe something better might finally be on the menu.
