The NFC East is back, and training camps are officially underway. The Eagles, Cowboys, Commanders, and Giants are all locked in, minus the holdouts.
Here’s what’s going down with each team so far, minus the sugarcoating.
🦅 Philadelphia Eagles: The Champs Know It, But They’re Not Acting Like It
Fresh off a Super Bowl win, the Eagles aren’t trying to slow down. Saquon Barkley gotta a $20.6M a year contract after being the X factor for the in the playoffs.
They’ve got a new OC (Kevin Patullo), who’s speeding things up. Not everyone’s sold on that blending well with Jalen Hurts’ power-run style.
DeVonta Smith showing off his SuperBowl ring. Don’t front them rings go crazy.
🏈 Washington Commanders: 12 Wins, A Star QB, and Now… Contract Drama
Jayden Daniels is back and looking like the future. He’s already got the trophy case started (Offensive ROY) and now he’s got Deebo Samuel riding shotgun.
Terry McLaurin skipped the first day of Training camp. He’s in the last year of his deal and wants more money, that’s understandable.
The defense is kinda revamped adding Von Miller, After finishing 30th against the run last year, there’s nowhere to go but up.
🐮 Dallas Cowboys: May have All the Pieces, Just No Trust
Dak Prescott’s healthy again, and OC Brian Schottenheimer has tailored the offense around him. They added George Pickens, Kenneth Murray Jr., and Kaiir Elam. It should work but it’s the Cowboys.
But we all know the real headline: Micah Parsons is not staying silent.
He wants a new contract like most player in the top 5 at their position always do and deserve. We all know the deal will get done when the Jerry and Steve Jones want the deal to get done.
I think they actually be sitting back laughing at players. This doesn’t help teams morale but it let’s everyone know who’s really in charge. Operating with that style gets more complex year after year.
Micah Parsons handle Jerry Jones disrespect with a honest statement, it was a master that the Jones boys should attend ASAP.
🗽 New York Giants: QB Battle, Rookie Hype, and Daboll on Thin Ice
The Giants went 3-14 last season and it was every bit as bad as it sounds. QB circus: Russell Wilson still hanging on, rookie Jaxson Dart is he the real future?
WR Malik Nabers the only bright spot on offense. I’m lovong Skatebo enegry though. He’s already being talked about like a top-10 guy — and honestly, they need him to be.
Head Coach Brian Daboll has already named Russell Wilson QB 1, talk about starting off on the scared foot.
Quick Hits: Division Reality Check
- Philly is still the team to beat.
- Washington could sneak a division title if Jayden keeps rising and Terry shows up.
- Dallas has the talent, but feels one bad week away from full-on implosion.
- Giants might surprise folks if their rookies hit. But I wouldn’t bet money on it.
And don’t forget: the NFC East hasn’t had a repeat champion since 2004. So if history says anything, Philly better watch its back.
Final Thought
Training camp is only the appetizer.
Stay tuned. Somebody’s getting hurt and somebody’s getting cut.
Welcome back, NFC East.
