Luka can’t sign the Super Max contract with the Lakers. He can sign a contract extension with the Lakers 5 years worth $229 million. He was eligible to sign for $116 million more dollars, if he signed with Dallas Mavericks
Was LeBron James consulted on this trade before it happened?
NBA Insider @sportsreiter says yes and he may have even given Davis a nudge out the door.

Why would Dallas Mavericks Trade Luka Doncic?
Honestly, all NBA fans are asking WTF?
He’s 25 yr old millionaire, NBA worldwide superstar in the first true social media generation. Of course he an semi asshole who needs time to figure things out.
ESPN reporters Tim Macmahon has a different take he says “now I can tell you the Mavericks have been extremely frustrated with Luca Don’s constant conditioning issues. The concerns his weight ballooned into the high 260s this season. They believe that is something that is directly attributable to the issues that he’s had the durability issues”
He then went on to say “they had major concerns about that they had major concerns about what was coming this summer and that was a supermax contract extension whether it was putting a $345 million commitment on table to a guy they had these concerns about or Lucas saying that he did he wanted to hold off”
New ownership ego’s may be bruised? Or it maybe a smart move in the long run. Luka doesn’t come off as the make you comfortable because you have more money type of person.
Dallas Mavs fans don’t expect what Lakers fans expect. Luka has an L.A. type attitude it may be a good fit if he stays fit. But wasn’t that the Anthony Davis problem?
I didn’t think Anthony Davis was quit built for L.A. Coming from New Orleans. The way he skated from Pelicans in that fishy manner. lol. I would never want a guy like that on my team. I would love to see Kyrie win another ring. Only, if he not playing the Knicks for a Championship
It was a great trade for both parties on the real, Lakers have more upside tho. Anthony Davis wants to win now. Kyrie will make it easy for him to get buckets. LeBron just doesn’t pull as much attention from the defense as he used to do.
Still balling at 40 is dope but you still 40. Kyrie keeps defenders on their toes and Anthony will be looking like KAT with the Knicks.
