Hip Hop legends Eric B & Rakim introduce those words to the Hip Hop community in 1987 on their classic song “You know I got Soul” most of us had no knowledge of self or what the words really meant. Today most still have no idea, what constant elevation means. That’s the reason why after high school most of us jump on the hamster wheel of life. Go to work pay bills, repeat and maybe some fun in between. It’s the reason so many look for escapes like drugs, food, shopping and alchohol. Those are the most common forms of escapism. We comfort ourselves temporarily over and over again.

Running from constant elevation in life. Mostly because it’s hard, takes time and effort. We demand of our kids constantly upgrade while in school. So they can graduate and keep us company on the hamster wheel. It’s true misery enjoys company, even if it’s a our loves ones expense. Some parents don’t see the value in giving their kids a leg up. They want them to go through what the went had to endure, which delivers absolutely no expansion just resentment from kids. I wonder how most parents grade themselves on a yearly basic.

Did they upgrade themselves this year or did they fail to elevate?

I don’t wanna beat up on parents to much, we are all products of our environments. Learn behavior mostly produces repetition of environment. Elevation comes from changing your in environment and thoughts with new information which causes expansion of the mind, once that happens the mind can never be return to its original form, that’s expansion.

That’s the simplest way to put constant elevation. The deeper meaning comes from the Big Bang Theory which says out of the void there was a big bang after that universal expansion took place and continues until this day. It’s also the name of one of the best Sitcoms ever created. The Big Bang Theory

Its doesn’t matter your level of education on the subject. I’m writing this with hopes of recruiting a few more individuals to push the envelope and think outside the box. I’m unapologetically myself, so those that know me and those who don’t know me, can feel free to do the same thing.

Be the change you wanna see in the world. One the greatest quotes I ever heard, I stop wanting people to change, instead I decided to change myself, not to be upset with people not trying to constantly elevate themselves. I was selfishly thinking more people should think like me. Now, I just thank God I was blessed with the curiosity to seek knowledge for expansion then applying that knowledge which creates my wisdom. Creating is also a from of expansion.

Constant elevation requires you to write that book, draw that picture, choreograph that dance and live life like you are the last person on earth without fear of judgement or ridicule. I promise once you embrace this way of living, you will never return to your past ways, that’s expansion.
