Kobe…confident not arrogant

My moms called me hours ago, alerting me to the sad news about Kobe Bryant aka Black Mamba, saying he passed away in a helicopter accident. I immediately went to twitter and saw all the condolences from everyone and posted my own. I had no idea that I would shed tears on and off for hours. I knew the love I had Kobe’s relentlessness and mentality on the court. What I didn’t know was how much I loved him for positive example he set for me and millions others.

The Mamba mentality taught me to keep moving on days like today, when it seems like life just sucks. Gianna his daughter was also on the helicopter along with others, there were no survivors. Reports say they were headed to his daughters basketball game.

As a Knicks fan, most people think you should never root for players outside of your team, that’s something I don’t go for, hard work that turns into greatness, should be appreciated. You had to love that about Kobe, he never gave up and never allowed his teammates to give up, whether they liked it or not.

Kobe’s confidence never came across as arrogance, it was more of a…you know I can do what I want to, right? That didn’t provoke anger from opponents just competitive smiles and admiration.

Apart from basketball he was just a good man. I offer my condolences to his family and friends. His positive energy will never leave us.
