According to Jeffri Chadiha Senior columnist for the NFL and on-air talent, these are the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders biggest challenges in 2025.
New York Giants Challenge
Biggest challenge: finding steady quarterback play, the Giants are rolling with Russell Wilson for now, but if he or Jameis Winston falters, rookie Jaxson Dart could take over quick, because neither vet is seen as the long-term answer.
Dallas Cowboys Challenge
Dallas has invested heavily in its offensive line, drafting three first-rounders in the last four years, including rookie guard Tyler Booker. But the running back room lacks proven punch. If the Cowboys want a balanced offense under Brian Schottenheimer, they’ll need their run game to catch up to their pass game, not just ride its coattails.
Washington Commanders Challenge
Biggest challenge: improving the defense, Washington gave up way too much on the ground in 2024, lost its top pass rusher, and even with new vets like Von Miller and Javon Kinlaw, this unit still looks shaky enough that Jayden Daniels might have to keep carrying the load.
Philadelphia Eagles Challenge
Biggest challenge: acclimating new faces on defense, the Eagles lost key veterans at every level, and while they’ve been grooming replacements, there’s real pressure on young guys like Nolan Smith to step up fast as Vic Fangio tries to keep the unit sharp.
