Those lyrics come from the Kenny Rodgers classic song “The Gambler” written by Don Schlitz. There is also a series of movies in which Kenny Rodgers starred in also named The Gambler.

I struggled with patience in my younger years and today my impatience got the best of me once again. Then on cue, the gambler song started playing in my head. In that moment of frustration, all of sudden I was relieved just hearing the lyrics and knowing I had ignored them.

I don’t have impulse control issues but every now and then I can jump the gun. I already had told myself to wait another day before visiting the place where I made my mistake that cost me $90.00 which is not a great amount of money, but no matter how much money you have, $90.00 dollars is $90.00 dollars.

I learned hesitation can lead to stagnation, truth is my problem wasn’t being stagnant, I was rushing the desired outcome. Just like a kid on X-mas eve.

Now I have to pay double for what I want or lose $90.00 without getting anything.
