Former NFL Quarterback Robert Griffin III turned sports analyst after leaving the NFL. Griffin made a very ignorant statement about about WNBA star Angel Reese hating Caitlin Clark star Indiana Fever player. That caused a lot of backlash on social media. Most notably from Ryan Clark another former NFL player turned sports commentator.
Ryan Clark responded by giving the same energy to RGIII. Speaking on his marriage to a white woman and his self hate. Saying “no matter how he continues to echo the microaggressions of racist. He will be no less black than me”
Personally I think both of them crossed the line. I agree with Ryan Clark statement about RGIII self hate. I also think he could have left Griffin wife out of the situation and still made his point.
RGIII played the victim after making such an idiotic statement. No one can know what’s in another person’s heart. He responded like fragile people always do and played victim. He needs to know you can do and say whatever you want in life. You also can’t tell anyone how to respond to what you do and say.
He said it was sports take “purely based in basketball” which is straight BS. You can’t claim to know what’s in a person heart and say it was based in basketball. He said “Angel Reese HATES Caitlin Clark” which has nothing to do with a basketball play or game.
He also claims to know what hatred looks like. We all have an opinion on what hatred looks like, claiming it as a definitive is a fool’s errand.
Angel and Caitlin said it was just a basketball play. He was more outrage than either player. The worst part he’s not looking at the WNBA, in the same light that he looks at the NBA.
He feels a need to protect people that don’t want or need his protection. The are ballers and ballers get chippy all day. Especially players at the highest level, the WNBA is the top tier. Both players would better served if RGIII stop looking at them as women. Instead he should look at them as ballers who happen to be women.
