In 2020, Black women were celebrated for securing Joe Biden’s election.
While in 2024, the blame for Kamala Harris’s loss has been shifted onto Black men. Sidestepping accountability for her being such a poor candidate. Her supporters were mostly know it all’s with a little education and/or money. The mistake was thinking, it’s enough of them to ever win an election.
Harris’s campaign struggled to connect with Americans’ everyday concerns. Many saw her dismissive attitude toward economic struggles, as her team insisted the economy was strong. As people are struggling paycheck-to-paycheck. Her tone seemed dismissive and that laugh was seen as insincere, did not help her connect with voters.
Kamala often never answered questions directly. Feeding interviewers a word salad that was bad for her and viewers.
Harris’s stance on global conflicts also hurt her. She supported Israel’s genocide in Gaza.
In Ukraine she also wanted to help keep that conflict going too. For many voters, fewer wars simply felt like the better choice.
Being honest she was a terrible candidate from the start. The Democratic party should have known better than selecting Harris. In the 2020 she got less than 10% of the vote in the presidential primary. Harris dropped out before voting took place in her home state of California to avoid the embarrassment of low numbers.
Black man support black woman, some just don’t support Harris. Any black woman thinking a black man doesn’t support them because they don’t support Kamala. Is just dumb or they don’t understand nuance.
Life is gray not black and white.
